Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to the most common questions we receive. If you do not find what you are looking for, feel free to contact us.

What fitness level do I need?

It varies by tour. Our Valleys of W trek in Torres del Paine is rated as moderate and suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. On the other hand, the Villarrica Volcano summit is more challenging and requires good physical condition. Each tour page includes a difficulty rating to help you choose.

What is included in the price?

Inclusions vary by tour, but generally our packages include transportation, professional bilingual guide, specialized equipment, and meals during the activity. Check each tour page for the specific list of inclusions and exclusions.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing:

  • Layered clothing (base layer, insulation, waterproof shell)
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Hiking boots with good ankle support
  • A daypack (20-30 liters)
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Personal medication if needed

A detailed packing list is provided after booking.

What is the group size?

We keep our groups small, typically between 2 and 12 people. This ensures a personalized experience, better safety and minimal environmental impact.

Can you customize a trip?

Absolutely. We offer Taylor Made experiences designed around your preferences, fitness level, schedule and interests. Contact us to start planning your custom adventure.

What is the cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • 60 or more days before departure: No charge
  • 59 to 45 days before departure: 50% of the total cost
  • 44 days or less before departure: 100% of the total cost

A deposit of $500 USD per person is required to confirm your booking.

What languages do your guides speak?

Our guides speak English and Spanish. German-speaking guides are available on request.

When is the best time to visit?

For Patagonia (Torres del Paine, glaciers, Puerto Natales area), the best season is October through April. For Pucon and the Lake District, activities run year-round. Santiago-based experiences are also available throughout the year.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, travel and medical insurance is mandatory for all participants. Insurance is not included in our tour prices. We recommend a policy that covers adventure activities, emergency evacuation and trip cancellation.
