Ski touring in Pucon offers an unmatched backcountry experience: skin up through untouched powder on the flanks of active volcanoes, then carve your way down with the entire Lake District spread out beneath your skis.

Volcan Villarrica is the iconic ski touring objective — an ascent that takes you past steaming fumaroles and through pristine snowfields to the summit crater, followed by a legendary descent with views of the lava-lit crater behind you and a chain of snow-capped volcanoes ahead. Few descents on Earth can match this combination of terrain, scenery, and volcanic drama.

Additional backcountry routes are available on surrounding peaks, offering varied terrain from wide-open volcanic bowls to tight couloirs through native forest. Your guide selects the best objectives based on current snow conditions, weather, and your skill level.

This experience is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers comfortable in variable backcountry conditions. All technical equipment and avalanche safety gear is provided by The Red Outdoor Xperience. Available during the Chilean winter season (June through October).
